Very satisfied with the service. I have visited this location in the past but I can tell they may have new management. Derek who was working the front desk was very polite and patient with me.The technician who worked on my car actually came out and talked to me about his findings and the best part is they saved me $. I had received a quote from another mechanic for work that wasnât necessary so I got a second opinion from CAR X.They made sure the correct things were repaired and that it was affordable.
I take my car to this carx whenever I need something done. When I have questions they make sure I understand what's being said. They've even taken me under my car so I could see what they were talking about from their point of view, literally! Great staff, great service.
It was great they got me in and out of there as fast as they could.
I don't know what more to say about how awesome of customer service this Car-X has. Seth is an absolute life saver. I had a metal flap hanging off the bottom of my car that was scraping the ground as I was driving. I was on the interstate heading from Clive to Ankeny. I needed to be in Ankeny in 30 minutes. I got off on the Merle Hay exit and knew I just needed to get to a tire place. Car X was off the interstate and I luckily had gone to this one before and had a great experience. I pulled up in a panic and Seth literally got me in and out of there within 5 minutes. Christian was able to pull the metal plate off and fix the plastic right away. I did not have an appointment at all, Seth just remembered me from being a prior customer I can not thank both Seth and Christian enough for how caring they both were that day. You guys rock ð

Honest quality reasonably priced service
I had gone to my dealership to get an oil change and they had a 2 hour wait at 8:30 in the morning. So I left and stopped into Car-X to see if they had time.This was my first time ever going here. As soon as I walked in the vibe was good and welcoming. They got me in an out under an hour. The guys are super nice and down to earth. I asked for prices on pads/rotors and tires. They were so helpful with explaining all the options, warranties and prices. Can't say enough, super great guys here! I will be back.
Jake and Pete were quick to help me out after another dealership neglected to complete a job properly on my vehicle. They took the time to explain what was wrong and fixed it and had me on my way in no time. The customer service was top notch (which you do rarely find these days) and I will for sure be doing business here for my future vehicle repair needs!!!
Great experience today at CarX. I have three little kids, and we had something minor that needed done. Amber was the manager, and Don worked on my vehicle. I was able to get in and out of there within about ten minutes, which any mom knows is worth a ton! Thank you for the quick experience and great service!
I had just driven into town for a family visit when the engine light came on. Drove into the Johnston Car-X at about 4pm and they looked busy. I talked to Amber and she spoke to a mechanic named Mitch - within 10 minutes Mitch was reading the code on my car and analyzing the problem. It turned out to be something that was not immediately serious and could wait until I returned to my home in Texas. They did not charge me anything for their trouble.These people were quick, careful and courteous. It is obvious that customer care is a high priority here. We donât have Car-X in the Dallas area - and that is our loss. I would not hesitate taking any auto need I had to Car-X.
I am usually not one to write an online review, but his time Iâm making an exception. I have nothing but good things to say about how well Amber took care of me at the Johnston Car-X Tire & Auto. And she didnât even fix my car! My dependable Toyota Camry, which Iâve been driving for years, suddenly stopped running. I had it towed to the Johnston Car-X. It turned out that the timing belt broke. Amber was not satisfied with simply replacing it and sending me on my way. She insisted on taking a deeper look and assigned her top technician to run a thorough diagnosis. It turned out that the timing belt breaking caused more damage to the engine. I had two choices: I could pay over $2,700 for an engine head replacement or Amber would do her best to find a used engine to replace the existing one, which would easily be over $3,000. She patiently answered all my questions and addressed my concerns. With no pressure from Amber, I reluctantly decided it was time to find a new car and send my Toyota to the junkyard. When I asked Amber how much I owed her for all her trouble and diagnostic work, she said, âNothing.â I am deeply appreciative, and I will tell anybody who lives in or near the Johnston area that they can trust the Johnston Car-X to take good care of them. I arrived for an appointment today and was greeted by Amber and had my car pulled right in. I was having some regular maintenance done and I used the nice waiting area they provide. The repair work done quickly and Amber went over everything with me. Very good service - I will use this Car-x location again in the future.
