I had the pleasure of getting my car serviced at this location. They diagnosed the issue quickly and efficiently. They repaired my car expeditiously, I would recommend them to everyone. Bob, and Steven were especially amazing.
This is a great place to take your car for auto maintenance. They always check everything and call you to let you know if something needs service that you didn't know about and explain why. They do excellent work, are always friendly and nice, and I trust them to do a great job. If there's an available coupon to help reduce cost, they will let you know and apply it to your bill. Definitely my go-to care auto shop.
A month and half back I got a flat tire - nail in tire. It was my wifeâs birthday. Two of the other places I went to said Iâd either have to replace all the tires or wait days for them to order the appropriate tires. Steven at CarX got me to come in after I called and got me back out the door same day with a simple patch vs spending hundreds of dollars on new tires. Iâve not had time yet to come back in for a check up, but thus far car has continued to run great - for which Iâm grateful! Thanks!
I called to reschedule my appointment for an earlier time, only to find out that I had missed it. I mistakenly thought it was on a different day. Despite this mix-up, a very kind gentleman asked when I could come in, and I suggested the next day. He smoothly changed my appointment for that day. When I arrived, another polite gentleman, whom I believe was named bob , took my information and mentioned heâd call me once my car was ready, so I wouldn't have to wait in the lobby for long hours. About 30-40 minutes after I left my car, I received a call from Car X, during which they explained their findings along with the services I initially requested: wheel alignment, oil change, and filter replacement. Ultimately, I only approved one of the three recommendations. Rather than feeling upset about not proceeding with everything, I appreciated the gentle manner of the person on the phone; he said it was no problem and that they would continue with the agreed repairs. My car was completed promptly, and as soon as I drove it, I could feel the difference. They did an excellent job, and I wholeheartedly recommend this auto shop.
These guys are amazing!!! Bob and his team never fail to take care of any issues I have. They are honest, professional, fast, and fair. I highly recommend them 10x over. They will be my mechanic choice for as long as Iâm in Chicago. The best. I have a new car with issues Iâm sure of it, and I will go to them for everything I need done.
Phenomenal service! I was able to drop off my car in the morning and it was fixed by the early afternoon! I had several problems and they were able to fix all of them within the same day. Very honest and fair people especially Bob! The total cost was cheaper than what other auto shops quoted me and they honor first responders and teachers with a discount. I will be going back to be serviced by them again!

I have never reviewed any place ever. These guys have to be the nicest, coolest, and best guys in the business. They're always honest, always willing to help, and are some of the most genuine car folk i've ever met. 5 stars isn't enough. Prices are fair, work is great. Y'all are the heroes.

Just had another excellent experience at my favorite Car-X. Bob Malek and his team are just wonderful! I love this shop, even if I have to sit in the waiting room for several hours - itâs a warm welcoming environment. Bob himself is extremely knowledgeable and his mechanics are well-trained and competent. Today they replaced an engine valve cover gasket (was leaking oil), cleaned the engine and spark plugs, replaced a brake light switch, checked my tires, and topped off my fluids - for a very fair price. I ainât complain inâ! These guys are great - God bless them!
Car X is fantastic!! They helped me with three issues. I went in for an oil change and tire rotation (which is free with the oil change). I was informed my battery and positive terminal needed to be replaced because it was corroded. I brought my car to a second shop to confirm the diagnosis, but their rates for replacement/labor were much higher. Carx gave me a free terminal and upgraded my battery to 36 month lifetime with no added fees. They are generous, helpful and incredibly efficient. I highly recommend their services! You wonât regret it. Shout out to Steven!
Steven was great to work with. I dropped off my car for a full brake system replacement and was able to get it done within a day. Much appreciated to the Steven and staff for doing a good job on this service. Will be stopping by for anymore future needs.
These guys are the best! So appreciated their support when I was in my moment of a tire crisis. Steven stayed late for me and even added air to my tire so that I could make it till the next day. Bob is so pleasant and helpful too. Highly recommend.
We've been coming here for years to service our vehicles and it's always been a positive experience. Came in recently for an oil change, Steven was very helpful and managed to get me in and out pretty quickly! I appreciate their customer service.
Bob is awesome. I brought my car in only to see what parts I would need. I guessed they would have to be ordered and I would need to come back. I had 2 broken rear springs. He had the parts in stock and made the repairs that day. Only a few hours later my car was done and good as new. This is the only place to go!
Had an amazing experience here today. They picked up the phone immediately and were very helpful with pricing and services provided. Steven helped us out at the front and was able to squeeze me in right before closing. Not only did they go past their closing time for me but they also took me in last minute on a holiday. Customer service is top notch here and it really felt like they were looking out for me. I will be coming back here the next time something comes up. They have a new customer for life!
EXEMPLARY SERVICE! I had the pleasure of dealing with Bob today when I brought my car in for an oil change. I lease my car and am not responsible for routine maintenance. An issue (not Car Xâs fault in any way) arose in getting the approval for service, which complicated a routine service that I expected to be a quick thing.Bob handled the disruption with grace and made sure I was able to get my car serviced and not spend all day going back and forth on the phone to get everything squared away. Not only was he kind to me, but I also watched him interact with several customers, and could see that he makes a habit of treating everyone with kindness and grace. Sure, many places offer oil changes, and Iâve never received the level of care and hospitality that I did today. A+
Steven is an absolute hero! Not only did he save my butt when my wifeâs car died he provided incredible customer service, car service, and expertise. The staff is friendly they provide you with ACTUAL inspections and on top of all of this they treat you like a human and not an opportunity to get money. I wouldnât take my vehicles anywhere else.
I ordered Goodyear tires online, I followed the prompts but when I went to Car-X Bob pointed out they were not compatible and was graciously offered to provide the right tires.I called Goodyear and Amanda the CS rep was understanding and offered full refund.On the whole Car-X solved the issue and made me a happy customer and I have decided to make them my go to for all my car problems.I appreciate them and highly recommend for all car service needs.
I was recommended to visit this Car-X location after receiving unexpected news regarding maintenance needed for my Ford Escape. Bob and his team were extremely helpful and efficient - completing all the work on my car (+ more that they felt should be fixed/updated) in just one day and for $1000+ cheaper than the quote at another local car maintenance shop. I will definitely return to Car-X for any future work I need on my car.
The best mechanic on the north side of the city. The customer service is phenomenal and they are always straightforward. If you think you have an issue, they will take the time to not only look at your vehicle but also test drive it and figure it out. They give you a heads up on what looks like it will be needed in the near future and work with you if your budget wonât allow for everything to get done at once. They prioritize the most urgent and tell you what needs to be done next when you get paid again or can afford it.I have been coming to this Car-X for nearly 10 years and swear by this auto repair shop. They have helped me with everything on a variety of cars over the years including an â04 Honda CR-V, â11 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, and an â03 Ford Taurus.They are friendly to everyone and legitimately treat people with the same respect across the board. Bob is AMAZING! I have been coming here for over 15 years with a couple of my cars and have referred several people here who have also had great honest service. What I love about Bob and his business is he is honest. He will tell you what you need now, if you don't get it fixed and its dangerous to drive and explain to you WHY you can't wait to get anything fixed OR if you can wait to get it fixed how long you can go before repairs are needed. He will also refer you to another business if he doesn't do the repairs you need. He has no problem referring you to a reputable place for what you need if he can't do it. He has often waited for me if he was closing. He is kind and his business ethic and honest character speaks volumes! I HIGHLY recommend Carx and will continue to come here!
My accessory drive belt snapped on the road and destroyed my tensioner, Steven was kind enough to let me push my ford escape on their lot right as they were closing, told me theyd call in the morning and order all the parts, Bob walked me through the details and checked me out in less than 24 hours, time is very valuable to me as I am a full time student currently working two jobs so every hour counts im so grateful for Steven and Bob making this emergency smooth for me 11/10 service!
Bob and the team at Car-X are incredible. They made me feel like I was their only customer, by communicating frequently with me about the issues they were finding and repairing on my car. They also gave me the best deal, I could've possible have gotten. All of their hard work, literally brought my Nissan Altima back to life after I flooded it by driving it into a large puddle. They worked tirelessly for 3 days trying everything they could and they were successful! I'm so grateful they did not give up. This is not the first time I've brought my car to Bob at Car-X. I had the best experience with this mechanic. I brought my car in for some urgent repairs that were needed to pass my emissions test. They completely solved my problem in a timely manner and made sure I was all good to go before getting my emissions retested. Not only that, but they are very honest & friendly and I never felt like I was getting pushed around. My totally came out to be cheaper than I was originally quoted. I highly recommend this mechanic!

Bob took my phone call and asked great questions on why I thought I needed a spark plugs change as I only had 40,000 miles on the car. Offered me a quote 1/3 of the Cadillac dealership. I was in and out in less than a hour with the old spark plugs in the new spark plugs box so I can safely assume that the work is done. The were more professional and caring than the dealership. It's been years since I had a mechanic I could trust but Bob's over 30 years of experience was very much displayed. Thank you for low cost quality work and I would trust bob with my mom's car.
