Shocks & Struts

Shocks and/or struts control spring oscillations. A spring that is not properly controlled can cause a rough and unstable ride.

According to the Motorist Assurance Program (MAP) shocks and struts show wear and performance degradation over 50,000 miles driven. Your Car-X certified ASE technicians can inspect your shocks and struts for possible replacement and routinely inspect these every visit as part of our routine courtesy inspection.

If your vehicle is bouncing excessively after going over a bump or has tires that show signs of cupping, or scalloping (which occurs when tires don’t track straight on the pavement), it may be time to visit your Car-X Tire & Auto for shocks and struts.

Is It Time For New Tires?

Car-X recommends getting new tires every 30,000 or 40,000 miles. If your tire tread is at 4/32 of an inch, it is a good time to consider getting new tires. Anything less and the tire is considered “bald,” and legally worn out in most states.
