Car-X offers a lifetime warranty on brake pads/shoes!
Scheduled brake maintenance keeps you—and others—safe. Routine inspections and maintenance are essential for all brake system components. At Car-X Tire & Auto, our certified technicians use top quality parts and offer best-in-business assurances that our service and parts are second to none.
Keep in mind that replacing brake pads or shoes is less expensive than replacing damaged rotors or drums. You can have your Car-X Man check your brakes at least every 6,000 miles, or approximately every other oil change.
Brake fluid should also be changed at regular intervals based on your owner’s manual recommendations.
Benefits of Regular Brake Maintenance:
– Scheduled brake maintenance keeps you safe.
– Periodic inspections help you plan brake repairs and spread out your cost.
– Replacing brake pads or shoes is less expensive than replacing damaged rotors or drums.
– Longer lifespan of the brakes
Understanding how brakes work…
A car is driven by kinetic energy. In order to stop that energy, and ultimately stop your vehicle, a force of friction must be applied. That’s where your brakes come in.
When you step on the brake pedal, a lever pushes a piston into the master cylinder. The master cylinder is filled with brake fluid, which is then forced through the pistons into the brake pads. The brake pads press a metal disc connected to the tire, which is called a rotor and that friction stops the wheel from turning.
When you hit the brakes, a lot goes on in a very short amount of time, and that time is critical to keep you and your passengers safe. It is critical for all parts of the brake system to be well maintained because every piece of the brake system affects the others.

Car-X recommends getting new tires every 30,000 or 40,000 miles. If your tire tread is at 4/32 of an inch, it is a good time to consider getting new tires. Anything less and the tire is considered “bald,” and legally worn out in most states.
