Shocks & Struts

Your car’s suspension not only keeps your car riding smoothly, it keeps your wheels in proper contact with the road.  This is vital to safe steering and braking. Properly working shock absorbers also help extend the life of your tires. Your Car-X Man is an expert when it comes to shock absorbers and struts. We should be, our trained technicians have been servicing shock absorbers for more than three decades. Car-X services everything - cars, vans, SUVs and light trucks – foreign and domestic.

A smooth ride is not something anyone should take for granted. That’s why Car-X features only top quality shock absorbers like Monroe’s new Sensa-Trac® shocks for ultimate comfort and added control. Sensa-Trac® shock absorbers offer a unique “sensing” technology that adjusts your suspension automatically as your driving conditions change.

Did you know that worn out shock & struts can increase your braking distance and cause serious problems? Because shock absorbers help keep the tires in contact with the road, Monroe felt there was a relationship between braking distance and worn shocks. Monroe conducted tests of braking on a dry, bumpy surface in vehicles going from 0 to 60 mph. The tests were conducted by AMCI and approved by the United States Auto Club (USAC) with a cross section of passenger cars, light trucks, SUVs, and mini-vans. Tests showed that when identical vehicles were compared, the braking distance for the vehicle with four new Monroe Sensa-Trac shocks was up to 10 feet less than the braking distance for the identical vehicle with three original equipment shocks and one 50% worn shock. (Actual results may vary depending upon driving ability, conditions, and vehicle type).

Are you looking for high performance shock absorbers? Car-X’s automotive professionals can accommodate an entire range of suspension needs, such as coil springs and heavy-duty shock and struts. When it comes to top quality struts, Car-X carries Monroe Reflex®, recommended for all vehicles, especially those with high centers of gravity like vans, SUVs and light trucks.
